Lyn’s mother taught her the traditional pastime of weaving when she was a young girl. Lyn recalls sitting with her mother, grandmothers, aunties and cousins as the ladies wove and shared stories with one another. Whilst the women of the families, her father and uncles would often take her brothers and male cousins hunting and as an artist himself, also taught the importance of keeping culture strong through art. 

Today, Lyn still collects pandanas daily and enjoys sharing her stories and weaving techniques with her children, grandchildren and extended family.
