Payment to artists

Mimi Aboriginal Art and Craft is a 100% Aboriginal owned, not-for-profit art centre. Artists receive 60% of the sale price of each artwork that you purchase. The art centre commission percentage is used to support artists to create artworks and operate the art centre. This includes, but is not limited to the purchase and allocation of tools and materials such as paints, canvas, files, saws, knives, sandpaper etc. Also, to maintain art centre vehicle(s) including fuel for bush trips to harvest materials, as well as artists’ travel to exhibitions, workshops, and markets etc.

Provenance

Mimi Aboriginal Art and Craft guarantees all artwork shown is authentic Aboriginal art. Every painting is accompanied by a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity that tells the ‘story’ relating to the artwork and information about the artist.

Money-back guarantee

It is very important to us that you are happy with your purchase. If not, we will fully refund you for the value of the artwork, minus the freight costs. You must notify the art centre within 7 days of receiving the artwork if you are not fully satisfied. You need only pay the cost of returning the painting to the art centre. The artwork must be returned in its original condition with all of its accompanying documentation for the guarantee to apply. Money-back guarantees are not applicable to small merchandise items.

Artwork availability

Mimi Aboriginal Art and Craft works to ensure that all items for purchase on the website are available and correctly priced. Enquiries about artwork will be addressed as soon as possible to confirm availability.

Artworks on consignment

All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars.

Delivery

Please clearly nominate a delivery address.

Every effort is made to dispatch artworks as quickly as possible, but specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Please keep in mind that you are purchasing something from a small township with limited postage/courier/delivery/shipping options. Minimum delivery time is usually two weeks after the item has been dispatched by Mimi Aboriginal Art and Craft. We will provide tracking details of shipped items as they are provided by selected freighting companies.

Postage and handling costs

Postage and handling $14.95 Australia Post (Domestic).

Items will be packed together if purchased in one transaction.

International purchases to be quoted (price will be dependent on carrier).

Duties and taxes

Mimi Aboriginal Art and Craft sells artwork to the public on behalf of the artist on a consignment basis. Therefore, paintings sold are Goods and Services Tax (GST) exempt. When shipping paintings overseas, the purchaser is liable for any duties or taxes payable specific to the country of import.

  • Direct bank transfer: please contact us for details. Ensure that the payment description includes your name and invoice number.

The purchased artwork is freighted or posted once payment has been confirmed.
